ayres Molester Lawsuits Underway Again

The lawyer  (John Carcione) for three of the plaintiffs filing lawsuits against  william hamilton ayres relating to his molestation of young  boys, was in court today regarding the lawsuits which were stayed pending outcome of the criminal trial and related competency trial. According to courtroom case notes, the Plaintiffs can now motion to have the stay lifted, so that they can proceed with the lawsuits.

The next case management review will be May 15, 2012 at 9am.

Civil Suit Hearing Tomorrow 4/3/2012

There is a Case Management hearing scheduled on April 3, 2012 at 9am, for 3 of the 5 civil lawsuits against william hamilton ayres relating to his molestation of young boys while he was alleging to provide psychiatric care. 

These hearings are normally very brief, and referred by case number only - CIV467741, CIV467743, CIV467742 - as all parties are listed as anonymous names, including ayres himself (He's listed as "John Doe #1)   In the past, often there is only one attorney for the plaintiff present, and ayres' attorneys just phone in. ayres has never been present as far as I know. Sometimes the defense attorney phones in too, so the whole thing may be over the speakerphone. There are other cases being managed in the same time-slot, so you you just have to wait for the case number to be announced by the clerk. Could happen at 9, could happen at 11. I don't think I've ever been there later than about 10:45 though.

The hearing is currently scheduled in the courtroom for Dept. 21, in the Redwood City Courthouse.

All 5 civil cases were stayed pending outcome of the criminal proceedings.

Opinion: ayres' Imminent Release

According to court documentation, as uncovered earlier today by Victoria Balfour, william hamilton ayres, who molested many young boys while alleging to provide psychiatric care and/or juvenile evaluations for the County and Courts of San Molesteo, has asked for his daughter, Barbara, to take conservatorship with regard to his person, specifically with regard to medical care and placement. Estate conservatorship is not indicated. ayres' attorney Scumbag McDougall states that ayres felt that his daughter "possessed the knowledge and skills needed to do a great job" Further, Scumbag indicates that ayres seeks the "least restrictive placement appropriate for his needs." Well, we certainly hope that the molester's needs are being met. Maybe the DA and Court can provide a steady stream of expendable 9 - 12 year old boys for his enjoyment too. I wonder if Barbara will turn a deaf ear as everyone else seems to have.... 

The court documents essentially are the release of ayres, fait accompli. They present ayres as a patient on leave of absence from Napa State Hospital, and that ayres requested that his daughter be his conservator.

Documents show that he expressed reluctance to be sent home to live with his wife, or in a residential setting. The documents show that ayres has preference to be established in a “secured perimeter residential care facility.” This is probably to appeal to the court’s mercy, to show that he still thinks he’s demented, and needs medical supervision. (I guess so that he doesn’t wander off in his demented state, and accidentally molest more boys.)

Solveig, ayres’ trashy wife, agrees with the arrangement, and daughter Barbara Ayres is also OK with the arrangement, and everyone has signed paperwork saying so. The documents state that Solveig is not party to any action against the conservatee, such as divorce, etc…

No bond is required for this arrangement.

The documents state that ayres is “adjudged to lack capacity to give consent for medical treatment.” YET: they state that he is allowed to complete an affidavit of voter registration, and according to the documentation, ayres’ physician Dr. Telfer states: “ayres has the capacity to give informed consent about his medical care. Deficits exist in Memory and information processing and thought disorders”
The documents further state that ayres is healthy enough to be present at the conservatorship hearing, but he is not required to be there. He states that he will NOT be there.

According to Valerie J. Samuel, Ph.D.:

The most typical diagnoses given for those with thought disorders are:  Schizophrenia and Psychosis. The symptoms of Thought Disorders can include false belief about self or others, paranoia; hearing or seeing things that others don’t see; extremely disconnected speech or thinking; feelings that don’t match the situation; social  isolation; being unable to function at home, or school; odd behavior; excessive concerns about one's body or very disorganized behavior. 

In relaying the information, ayres’ attorney, Scumbag McDougall also states that he has “found that his status has deteriorated since Dr. Telfer’s declaration, and since my representation over the past two years.”  This is especially important given Scumbag McDougall’s renowned prowess as a medical doctor, with his degree from ImNotAFuckingDoctorButILookPrettySoTheCourtShouldBelieveMe University.


Fucking loser whiner ayres is taking antidepressants and painkillers, because he’s having such a hard time dealing with his sorry lot in life. Must be stressful, not having easy access to young boys.


On Wednesday, April 25th 2012, the conservatorship status will be presented to the court, and on Friday, April 27th 2012 , I assume Scumbag will be presenting his request to release ayres. The DA will wave their hands in objection (possibly), and then the court will shit on all of ayres victims again.

Hey, Barbara: Congratulations, now you're glamorous too! All you have to do is stand still and look stupid...

Ayres' Daughter Has Petitioned to be His Conservator

The papers haven't reported this, but we have learned that William Ayres' daughter Barbara Ayres, of Sacramento, has petitioned the court to become her father's conservator ( of his person- NOT of his estate.)

The petition states:

William Ayres is diagnosed with dementia of the Alzheimer's type. Without the assistance of others he is unable personally to provide for his daily needs as a result of the increasingly debilitating effects of the dementia, especially in the exposure to risk of self injury from falling and in failing to manage his medication regimen accurately. Failing memory also prevents him from managing his other health care needs without the assistance of others.

A total of six court investigators have been authorized to access Ayres' health information. For the record, Barbara Ayres did not attend her father's criminal trial in the summer of 2009.

DECLARATION OF ATTORNEY FOR PROPOSED CONSERVATEE FILED BY WILLIAM AYRES

According to his lawyer Jonathan McDougall's statement, "Mr" (sic) Ayres is being given:

1) Citalopram for depression and anxiety
2) Levothyroxine for hypothyroidism
3) Memantine for cognitive deficits
4) Omega-3 fatty acid for cardio and cerebrovascular protectionprotection (sic)
5) Methocarbamol for chronic pain.

McDougall describes "Mr." Ayres' demeanor at  two meetings at his law office on April 2, 2011 and at a visitor's room at Napa State hospital on March 1, 2012 as "pleasant and cooperative." He states that Ayres "expressed concern over placing a burden on his daughter. He felt that she possessed the knowledge and skills needed to do a great job but did not want to burden her with responsibilities. "

MacDougall then states:

"Mr." Ayres expressed serious concerns about leaving Napa State Hospital for either a residential home or his home with his wife. He understood that the conservator would have with court approval the power to decide his residence."


Huh?  If he doesn't want to go home to his wife or a residential home, then where does he want to go?

To the Jerry Sandusky Victims Who Have Not Come Forward:

As of this writing, former Penn State Assistant Football Coach Jerry Sandusky is charged with sexually abusing ten boys during the course of 15 years.

Everyone who knows anything about sexual predators know that this number represents just a tiny fraction of the actual number of boys  who were molested by Sandusky. There are likely hundreds of victims out there.

Some of them may have spoken up when they were children and been ignored, some of them may have been quietly hiding the truth forever.

Before I decided to speak up and say something to authorities, when, as an adult, everything began falling apart, I was very afraid of what would happen to me if I spoke up, and reported to authorities. I was afraid that I would be seen as culpable because I didn’t report when I was a child, I was afraid that I could be compelled to testify against my will, facing the gut wrenching embarrassment in court. Everything was falling apart, and I just wanted to hide.

I was following the news of the scumbag who molested me when I was a child. I had been looking for news for years, and when news finally broke, I posted comments on a message board. Ultimately I made contact with a person who was looking for victims to come forward to help the DA build their case. I finally did come forward. I used a throw-away cell phone to call the police, and asked about what would happen to me if I gave them my name. After talking to the officer, reassured that they wouldn’t want someone on the stand who didn’t want to be there,  I went in and filed a report.

I’m not going to mislead you: the path has not been easy. I didn’t get to testify; in general, things did not go well during the trial or aftermath. It’s still traumatic to this very moment, and probably always will be.  But I did sit in the courtroom during the trial and faced the devil himself. I sat in the front row, from time to time, and I looked into his eyes as he lied on the stand, he was staring right into my eyes while he was letting the bullshit flow from between his lips. Even though he won, I still beat that piece of shit, and I know that he knows it. That alone made my speaking up worth it, I wouldn't have been there if I hadn't ever spoken up. It was better, I think, than if I had not spoken up.

If you’re one of the victims of Sandusky, old or young, dying inside, wanting to speak up, but also afraid to, I’d urge you to contact authorities, a lawyer, anyone, talk to them anonymously, if you're more comfortable doing it that way. Ask them about what the next steps are. Most people investigating this kind of crime understand why you'd want more assurances before giving them your name. In my case, the officer was very understanding, and gave me facts with no pressure. I told him I'd think about it and call him back. Again, no pressure, he stated that he'd be ready to take my report if I wanted to do it. I hung up without giving him my name, and then called him back later, when I was ready.

The victims of Dr. Ayres and Jerry Sandusky cases have much in common. High profile predators in a position of power with unlimited access to children -- Sandusky through his charity, Ayres through his child psychiatry practice.  Both Sandusky and Ayres were protected and enabled by institutions, authorities, and colleagues, who either turned a blind eye to the abuse or were too cowardly to contact police. 

Sandusky victims: what you went through and continue to go through mirrors what so many of the victims of Ayres are experiencing now. Where is the Outrage?

Two items of OUTRAGE, both coming from my review of the San Mateo Daily Journal this morning:

The first item is a letter to the Journal, sent by two San Mateo County residents expressing their outrage at the poor job San Mateo county has done of controlling molester william hamilton ayres, who molested many young boys while he was alleging to provide private psychiatric treatment and  psychiatric evaluation services and court testimony for the County Juvenile System.

Why is there no public outrage in San Mateo County over the William Ayres’ child molestation charges when similar charges in Pennsylvania brought rapid public outcries from the whole country? Do we value football more than the lives of young boys? Sandusky, unlike Ayres as a doctor, did not take an oath to “do no harm,” and boys were not sent to him for psychiatric treatment.

Ayres’ attorney is now using dementia as an excuse for his being unfit to stand trial or remain in custody at Napa State Mental Hospital for ongoing evaluation. If the County had acted on complaints filed in the ’80s and ceased sending referrals to Ayres, some 40+ young men would not still be seeking justice, to say nothing of the three victims who are now dead and will never have justice. Let us hope the county court will follow Deputy District Attorney Karen Guidotti’s statement that Ayres “belongs locked up” and not continue to treat him with deference and “kid gloves.”

The second outrageous item is an article in the same newspaper. There is an article this morning talking about charges against yet another alleged San Mateo County child molester, this one arrested last week. The article talks about Kyle Clifton Vogt's molestation of at least four girls, at least one of them very young, and of alleged threats he made to the girls if they spoke up. My problem with "The Daily Journal" is the same that it has been frequently in the past:

I think that The Daily Journal is trying to present an "impartial" reporting perspective on the matter. But as they have often done in the past, they keep ascribing blame to child molestation victims by describing the events as a "sexual relationship" as if the matter were some kind mutual... well... relationship. This is incompetence on the part of the Journal at best, and maliciously abusive and damaging on take-away. Here's the ACTUAL language that the Journal had the gall to print:

"A man arrested last week for having an ongoing sexual relationship with a girl beginning when she was 5 likely has at least three other victims and maybe more, according to South San Francisco police."

Is there a child molester friendly editor on the Journal's staff? Perhaps this is just a regurgitation of language that appeared in a police report, perhaps it is just poor editing (By the way, I checked SFGate, and they are reporting that the investigating officer uses words like "rape" and "molestation." I don't see the word "relationship" in the SFGate article.)  Either way, it's reprehensible and disgusting, and they keep doing it over and over.

Let me give the Journal a helpful tip to figure out wording when in doubt:

A FIVE YEAR OLD GIRL DOES NOT HAVE THE WHEREWITHAL TO DECIDE TO ENTER INTO A SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH A 36 YEAR OLD "MAN."

Stupid fucking morons. 

UPDATE 3/7/2012: We now know who the fucking moron at the San Mateo Daily Journal is. Bill Silverfarb wrote this, this morning:

Kyle Clifton Vogt, 36, was arrested Thursday after a two-week investigation by police that revealed he allegedly had carried on a sexual relationship with his girlfriend’s half-sister for at least eight years starting when the victim was just 5.

Surprise: ayres not demented enough to enjoy Napa

Apparently there was a hearing last Friday (02/24/2012) in the ayres case. Surprise!
(I'm not sure why the victims who filed police reports are not told ahead of time about this shit. Seems like we should be. In fact, it's very likely this blog wouldn't even exist if the victims had ever received consideration from the DA, and been treated with a modicum of dignity before the trial. I know, I know... it's not the DA's job to treat people with dignity. Wagstaffe is Aces. )


According to articles in the Mercury News and the San Mateo Daily Journal:

ayres' attorney, Scumbag McDougall is still alleging that his client is demented (in spite of video and reports showing otherwise.)  BUT: Scumbag also claims that ayres is having such a difficult time at Napa, that the doctors should be forced to report on his condition earlier than their planned August evaluation.

There will be a hearing on April 27, 2012 at which Scumbag McDougall will apparently argue that william hamilton ayres is so demented that he needs to be NOT tried for for molesting many young boys while alleging that he was practicing child psychiatry, AND he needs to be released from Napa because he's SO demented that he needs to have non-locked-up, outpatient treatment.

Sounds like a logical argument right? My money says the court is going to eat it up.

According to the Mercury News, Karen Guidotti from the DA's office - the who jauntily greeted the mother of one of the victims outside the courtroom  immediately after her office conceded to ayres' bogus dementia defense - said that based on her take from reading initial reports, it's too early to release ayres. She also speculates that ayres is not having a great time at Napa (fucking Sherlock Holmes working in San Mateo, we have...) She also tells the Merc that she is sure that Scumbag McDougall "will do whatever they can to get him out of there, just as strongly as we feel that he belongs locked up."


The San Mateo Daily Journal says that Guidotti says that the DA's office will " “absolutely” argue vigorously against any change" " Note that the Journal included air-quotes around the word "absolutely."

By "Absolutely" I'm sure that what is meant is that they'll have an underling stand up in court, rather than have Wagstaffe himself show, and say that they really, really, really would like ayres to stay locked up, and then the court will shrug and say: "nutin' we can do," and then, POP, there will be another child molester roaming the streets of San Mateo again.

Both articles seem to be unclear about what happens after the 6 months of by-law lockup, but the San Mateo Daily Journal article says that Scumbag McDougall has the burden of proving that ayres can be adequately "treated" outside of lockup.

Child molesters should be "treated" to long-term prison beatings in my thinking, but alas, I live in San Mateo county, and molesters here are most frequently "treated" to a slap on the wrist and slobbering praise over their military service.

Anyhow, put April 27, 2012 in your Disappointment Book. We'll post times when we get them.

Anonymous Ayres victim : One Year Ago

Yesterday marked the first anniversary of the death of an Ayres victim, from alcohol abuse. He left  behind many, many  friends. I met some of them at a memorial party last March. I remember how they all talked about his  unique laugh.

Sadly, in the five years that I knew this victim, who shall remain anonymous -  I never heard him laugh once. I did however, hear him cry on a number of occasions --  always when we were discussing Ayres.   The  pain in his voice was so acute that it would haunt me for days afterward. In the summer and fall of 2005, when there was no police case against Ayres and it looked as if there never would be, it was the grief and pain in this victim's voice more than anything that made me to resolve to fight for the victims and to try to get a criminal case going against Ayres.

In March 2011, at his memorial party, I learned that before he died,  the Ayres victim alleged to his counselor at rehab and to some of his closest childhood friends  that when he was about 12, Ayres had given him alcohol laced with a drug and then raped him. His friends told me that the victim recounted how Ayres had said to him, "If you let me do this to you, I will make sure you won't go to juvenile hall."

How many other juveniles did Ayres ply with alcohol and drugs and then violently assault ? How many are afraid to come forward?

Thousands, most likely. Ayres started working for the juvenile courts in San Mateo almost immediately after moving to California in 1963.  We know that former Juvenile Judge Marta Diaz was sending  boys to Ayres up until December 2003, when the first molestation civil suit against Ayres was filed. (This is the same Judge Diaz who, according to San Mateo DA Steve Wagstaffe told the police to "stop investigating Ayres" in the fall of 2002, as she and Ayres were" friends.") The fact that San Mateo County was paying Ayres all of those years to molest and rape juveniles like this victim is just mind boggling, and the fact that they have so far been disinclined to look at their own role here is just as shocking.

I am glad I got a chance to tell the Ayres victim before he died about that for all of his aloofness with the police who were investigating Ayres, he nevertheless was a key lynchpin  in this case. I believe that in his death he is continuing to be a strong motivating force for justice. If there are any victims who were molested as juveniles in Boston or California, and for whom this victim's story resonates, please come forward.

Finally, I want to thank Deputy Police Chief Mike Callagy for paying the Ayres victim  a visit at his home just before he died, to offer his help.

Seems like a common theme that the wives of child molesters are incapable of recoiling at the nasty, subhuman behaviors of their scumbag husbands, even after their depraved activities come to light. It seems to me that this behavior is probably the result of GUILT, not disgust. I suspect that at some level, these moronic spouses knew what their perverted husbands were up to, and when they are caught, the spouses angrily blame the victims, the prosecution, and the press, rather than expressing the more appropriate disgust at the  perpetrator  and the damage the perpetrator has caused.

Very cowardly indeed.

In the clip below, pervert child molester Jerry Sandusky's wife "Dottie" Sandusky attempts vehicular homicide against a reporter and camera operator who were standing on the public sidewalk in front of the molester's house, doing a news report about the pervert coming outside his house to watch schoolchildren while on house arrest. 

Also in the clip is Joseph Amendola, Jerry Sandusky's scumbag attorney, who himself had sex with a 16 year old child while he was around 50 years old. In the video, he's making pathetic excuses for his client or something. I didn't listen. 

Dottie Sandusky's behavior is more extreme, but very similar to the behavior of other wives we've talked about here: 

Solveig Ayres, the wife of william hamilton ayres, who molested many young boys while he was claiming to practice child psychiatry, has taunted parents and victims, made pig-like snorting noises in court when officials mentioned victims, invaded private conversations between victims and police officers, and other similar bad behaviors. She continually made ridiculous excuses trying to explain away her pervert subhuman husband's despicable behavior.

Dr. Colleen Halloran, pediatrician wife of Bernie Ward, a local radio personality and collector of child pornography (including the involvement of infants) and who fantasized about having sexual relations with his children and their friends, had this to say about her disgusting husband's evil behaviors:

"The justice department sure hasn't got any of the real terrorists out there, they got us into a war that was based on a lie, they can't control the economy, they can't control gas prices, but oh boy, they got that really dangerous criminal Bernie Ward off the street and have destroyed his family. I thank you all very much,"

I suspect that these wives all know way more than they're letting on, and it's disgusting that they did nothing. If so, they are just as much to blame for the continuous abuse as the perverts themselves are.

A blogger on DailyKos.com by the name of SwedishJewfish has posted a tribute to victims of childhood abuse to counter the celebrations today honoring the life of Joe Paterno, who enabled child molester Jerry Sandusky to continue to abuse over the past decade. If you've read my posts in the past weeks, you know that this is an issue that has bothered me too.

Her idea for a tribute is FANTASTIC. You should go read it, and "recommend" it, if you're a member of the site. You should also donate to RAINN.org on her page, if you feel so inclined. (RAINN is the "Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network") and her donation page is right on RAINN's website. The money you donate goes directly to RAINN and is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. They will give you their federal tax ID on your donation receipt.

Three:
Pennsylvania Governor Corbett has issued an official expression of condolences for the death of Joe Paterno, stating that "Joe Paterno confronted adversities, both past and present, with grace and forbearance." Further, the Governor has ordered the State Flag to be lowered to half staff in his honor.

In response I have written the below letter to Governor Corbett. Please feel free to lift, plagiarize, cut, paste,  bend, fold, and spindle the below, and use to send him a letter or email of your own.
[Update 01/27/2012]: No response from Governor Corbett, not even a form letter. Be shocked if a politician ever responded to this kind of email though.

Dear Governor Corbett,

I took a moment today to read your January 22, 2012 expression of condolences on the death of Joe Paterno, and your January 23, 2012 State Flag half staff order in honor of Joe Paterno.

I understand that Joe Paterno has meant a great deal to the State, in terms of fame and publicity, as well as in his “Generosity to Penn State as an institution.”

I would like to take a moment of your time to call attention to the grave damage that child molestation does to its victims. In most cases, children in such situations develop an intense mistrust of the very people who should be able to help them, especially when they perceive that people who should be helping them are failing to do so. These innate, learned responses persist well into adulthood, leading to a very difficult life for many victims of such crimes. In addition to feeling socially awkward our outcast, we typically suffer more health problems than the general population; we have greater odds of engaging in dangerous behaviors, acting out violently, and drug and alcohol abuse. We are often depressed, we have frequent suicidal thoughts, and sometimes, we follow through on those thoughts.

Child Molesters seem to have a unique ability to attach themselves to people who are financially, legally, and politically well connected, so that they have important people to defend them when they are exposed of their heinous crimes. This attachment often becomes insidious, pervasive, and inseparable without perceived sacrifice on the part of the persons defending the molester.

Mike McQueary, Tim Curley, Gary Schultz, Graham Spanier, and Joe Paterno are all people who fell into Jerry Sandusky’s trap, and they DID NOT “confront adversities” with “grace and forbearance.” Instead, they allowed colossal human damage to continue for a decade.  Those men were too afraid of damage to their own reputations to stop Sandusky, and it is likely that no one will ever know the number of children victimized.

The victims of such crimes are often very attuned to those people who child molesters use as character witnesses, and the very mention of these supporters opens up wounds anew, almost as painful as the actual abuse was.

Your celebration of the “man,” Joe Paterno, is undoubtedly causing additional pain and grief in those who have suffered, and those who care about them.

It is shameful that your office has issued these tributes without also acknowledging the atrocious damage that Paterno has allowed.

Your office has fallen victim to the same seduction that McQueary, Curley, Schultz, Spanier, and Paterno have fallen for: You gain more popularity by celebrating the hero, than you would in standing up strongly for those damaged. And in so doing, you re-enforce the victim’s distrust of everyone who should have the power to stop the damage.

I hope you will take some time to learn about the damage that child molestation does to people, short and long term, and take it to heart in the future.

UPDATE 01/24/2012: The author of the "F**K Joe Paterno" Post on the Daily Kos site (which I linked to above) has decided to counter Penn State's memorial service for Joe Paterno with a tribute post for victims of child abuse. If you haven't read her original post, please do so now, it's really a VERY good article. She has this to say about creating a tribute page:

I'm one of the lucky ones. I am unlike the millions of kids who never escape from the cycle of psychological torture and self inflicted violence- the kids and adult survivors who kill themselves, either directly or indirectly. The ones who never make it out ok.

New Ayres Victim Comes Forward: Molested in 1966!

Last week a 58-year-old man bravely contacted this blog to let us know that he too, had been molested by Ayres -   in 1966 !  This makes him the earliest known victim of Ayres. 

That means that Ayres molested boys in San Mateo for almost 40 years.

This new victim told us that he was 12 years old and at Hillcrest Juvenile Hall when Ayres abused him. The assault took place before Ayres did his sex ed series on KQED called "A Time of Your Life" (  a  program that one of Ayres' former partners described to us as "disgusting" and said that it appeared to him that  that Ayres  had used the creepy program  to "procure" boys.)

In 1994, this victim wrote a letter to the California Medical Board stating that Ayres had molested him. They did nothing..... And then, when the San Mateo police were working to get their search warrant on Ayres in 2005-2006 and found out about this victim's complaint to the medical board, for some reason, they say they were unable to find the man, even though they knew the state where he lived, and he has a very uncommon name!

This victim did not know that Ayres had been arrested until last week, when he Googled his name. 
He thinks that his search on Ayres was likely prompted by the Sandusky/Penn State abuse case.
What is incomprehensible to him, he says, is that Ayres had gotten away with his pedophilia for so long. 

We told him that in San Mateo the culture of protectionism and conspiracy of silence in San Mateo concerning Ayres was even worse than it was in the Sandusky case. San Mateo  Children's Services, the medical community, juvenile judges like Marta Diaz who according to  San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe  warned the police who were investigating Ayres in 2002 Ayres to be "real careful with Ayres- because he and I are friends" and then continued to send boys to Ayres for the next two years - were all complicit. According to one reporter who worked for the San Francisco Chronicle in 2005, Wagstaffe went so far as to tell him  that Judge Diaz had actively interfered with the Ayres investigation, and that back in 2002, there had been a "power struggle between Diaz and the DA's office", with Diaz telling the police, "Don't investigate Ayres."

It was just last month that a 90-year-old psychiatrist  named Dr. McClain Johnston in Menlo Park told us that he had been "hearing stories about Ayres and boys for the last fifty years - since the mid-1960s." Asked why he and other doctors hadn't reported Ayres, he stated, "No one wanted to get involved."


There have been media reports that because of the Sandusky scandal, there's been a fairly dramatic increase in the number of victims of sexual abuse reporting it to the authorities. We believe that this victim is not the only one whose memories of Ayres were jarred by the Sandusky case.


We urge the others out there to contact us at this blog. This includes victims in Boston from 1959-1963, and victims in Wisconsin, where Ayres attended the University of Wisconsin Medical School.  


This past March, I was contacted by a 71- year -old man who had been molested in 1949 by a child psychiatrist at Judge Baker, where Ayres worked. This child psychiatrist and Ayres were there at the same time.


We know there are victims who were assaulted by Ayres long before 1966, and we want to hear from every one of you.
