Yet another “psychiatrist” has been found guilty of sexually deviant crimes. Aubrey Levin, another alleged forensic psychiatrist, has been found guilty of sexual assaults on young men who were court ordered to report to Levin for “psychiatry” in a case that has so many parallels to the william ayres case, that I’d like to be able to say that it’s shocking. Unfortunately, the parallels are not all that shocking -- indeed, this kind of deviant, cruel, criminal behavior appears to be normative for this “profession.”
Parallels between cases:
Levin did not testify, but in police interviews, he claimed that he was not sexually abusing his patients, he was practicing "medical procedures" to treat sexual dysfunction. Likewise, william ayres claimed that all of his actions were "medical procedures" and that some of them were to determine the physical sexual development stage (Tanner) of his young boy victims... ayres never did manage to convincingly explain why it was that girls did not need to have similar examinations.
Levin was a forensic psychiatrist, and as such, was taking court-ordered young men for evaluation. He was sexually abusing some of these young men, who were not at liberty to deny court ordered visits without the fear of retribution from the court. In fact, one of the victims DID file complaints and was ignored. So he filmed his own sexual abuse with a hidden camera watch, and brought that to authorities as evidence. The ayres case parallels Levin's: in addition to his private “psychiatric” practice in which he molested young boys, william ayres molested young boys who were referred to him by the court for forensic evaluation.
Both men abused the threat of State retribution in order to coerce some of their victims.
Trial similarities:
Levin’s trial was put on hold for awhile due to Levin’s alleged “failing health” issues, (Heart “problems” and “morbid” obesity. Early in the trial process, Levin was pictured walking unassisted into the courtrooms, and soon was appearing with a shiny new walker. You’ll recall the same nonsense from william ayres – only ayres was suffering prostate “problems,” not heart “problems.”
Later in the trial process, proceedings were held for competency hearings because Levin’s “doctor” said that he had early symptoms of dementia, and his wife was claiming that he was forgetting words and exhibiting bizarre behavior like leaving his zipper down. Ultimately, it was decided that he was competent to stand trial.
You’ll recall that william ayres also ran a rather lengthy ruse in which he pretended to be suffering Alzheimer’s, apparently, according to statements that he made to evaluating staff at Napa State Hospital, at least in part, at the behest of his legal representation. His wife , Solveig ayres, also turned common, temporary lapses of memory into elaborate stories of mental deterioration -- Claims of “not remembering his son’s name” turned into “well, it happened ONCE” under cross-examination.
The Wives and other supporters:
Aubrey Levin's Rabbi has claimed that Levin is "greatly respected" in his community and that his "good" is not "erased" by the sexual abuse. Rabbi Yisroel Miller further kvetched that a prison sentence would be a death sentence. Similarly, william ayres was vocally and apparently financially supported by many local practicing head-shrinkers like Etta Bryant, Larry Lurie, Robert Kimmich, and others.
In the case of william ayres, his wife Solveig has been a staunch defender, sometimes making angry posts online about Salem and witch hunts. She coined the idea that ayres was a “physician first” that was frequently reported in the press, and was used by Doron Weinberg, ayres’ first asshat attorney during the trial.
Aubrey Levin’s wife Erica Levin steps it up a notch: She apparently is being held over for attempting to bribe one of the jurors in her husband’s case. She was hoping to purchase a “not guilty” vote for some chump change. The juror told the judge. Erica is now likely facing her own appointment in front of a jury.
Coffee Talk:
How many times does this have to repeat itself? Why do the perpetrators always have the same Modus Operandi, and why do the wives and family always react with the same blind disbelief and behave in an anti-social manner in response to people horrified by their spouse’s criminal behavior.
The term “psychiatrist” was coined by German doctor Johann Reil, and the word is composited from Ancient Greek meaning roughly: “Soul Medical Treatment”
It is interesting then, to find that a startling number of psychiatrists are actually soul vampires, thriving on the damage and chaos that they cause to their alleged patients. Do they all behave the same way because they are in essence the same evil being inhabiting the space where a human being was supposed to stand? Are they vessels for some kind of evil unleashed upon the weary? Or are they merely fallen humans, attracted to the profession because of the easy access to vulnerable souls to crush? – and if so, then how is it that their behavior always the same?
What’s the deal with courtroom behavior? Are each of these perpetrators coming up with excuses on their own, independently, or is it the attorneys who are nudging, cajoling, or even directing some of the behaviors that these criminals are using to attempt to deceive the courts? Is it not unethical for a defense attorney to encourage this kind of behavior? How are these criminals coming up with optimal (and identical) delay tactics if not directed by their legal representation?
What can we do to halt the evil that psychiatry attracts and perpetuates?
